Upcoming Trip – July 28-August 6, 2014

For many students and young adults, the idea of backpacking Europe is the quintessential coming of age rite of passage.  Unfortunately not very many people ever get this experience.  Mud Ministry is offering you that chance!  This trip is chaperoned and guided…it’s not a wild party (so that should set your parents’ minds at ease a bit), but it gives you the opportunity to experience these amazing countries.  On this trip you will learn more about who you are and who Christ is…all while taking in the sites.

The Trip

This isn’t a mission trip.  It’s more of a vacation with a purpose.  As ministry opportunities come our way, we will definitely take them, but this trip is more about learning what it means to follow Christ and how to listen to His voice.    We will have group devotions and times of journaling.  Our staff will join you on this trip and help lead you on your spiritual journey.

The Schedule

Please note: The schedule of this trip may and probably will change. In the spirit of backpacking on a budget, we are working hard to get the cheapest plane tickets for everyone.  We will not make changes the itinerary without talking to people who have paid their deposits (that’s one of the reasons for paying early!).  If a sale fare comes up (and they will), we will talk to everyone about adjusting the itinerary to take advantage of it.  This is an adventure trip and flexibility is part of backpacking. The joy is in the journey itself.

Day 1: Fly into London in the morning – Visit London – Spend the night in London.

Day 2: London Day 2 – Spend the night in London.

Day 3: Visit the English countryside.  Spend the night outside of London

Day 4: Return to London – Take the train from London to Paris (2 1/2 hours). Get settled in Paris.

Day 5: Full day touring Paris. Spend the night in Paris.

Day 6: Touring Paris Day 2.

Day 7: Day trip to Chateau de Versailles

Day 8: Tour Friench countryside

Day 9: Return to Paris

Day 10: Fly home from Paris

The Conditions: Comfortable

The hardest thing about this trip will be carrying your bags 🙂  We will be staying in hostels and the occasional hotel.  Bus and train rides will be reasonable.  You must be able to carry your own backpack for an hour or more at a time.

The Cost: Moderate

$1600 per person plus airfare.  Includes meals, lodging, and transportation. Some meals will be in restaurants, we will brown bag other meals.  Europe isn’t cheap, but we are going to stay at decent places and eat good food.

The Focus: Discipleship Focused

We certainly aren’t going to turn down ministry opportunities, but this trip is more about developing your own relationship with Christ.
